Kapalua, located at the north end of the West Maui Mountains is a self contained community that has been developed over the past 30 years. Hotels, Villas and private homes offer a wide range of housing. Kapalua has
2 championship golf courses (Bay and Plantation) and a full teaching academy with complete practice facilities. Tennis courts are available near the Bay Course clubhouse offering some of the finest outdoor tennis courts found on Maui.
The Ridge Villas, where our unit is located, are located at
one of the highest points of the community looking down on the Bay Course, the Ritz Carleton Hotel and the ocean.
At
the Ridge, there are two swimming pools available for
enjoyment. One is located about 100 yards from our front door. The other is at the other end of the complex.
Both pools have barbeque grills available and kitchen facilities in which to prepare meals and enjoy
while poolside.
The newly renovated Ritz-Carleton offers all of the amenities you expect of a five star hotel. The beach at the Ritz has a complete beach activities desk for a variety of water sports.
As residents we and our guests are encouraged to use their cascading pool and
jacuzzi. The Spa offers a variety of programs and
daily or weekly passes for usage of the health fitness center are available for
a fee.
Be sure to walk down to the Kapalua Bay Point and see the gorgeous view. The beach located at the Kapalua Bay is wonderful. There is also a beach activities desk and if you want to enjoy some snorkeling they have all the gear.
Just
across from the north entrance to the RidgeVillas is a small beach that you can reach from the lower road by using the access path that runs next to the
Ironwoods. This beach is secluded and offers a bit more surf.
One activity you might want to include is the pineapple tour that is run by the Kapalua Pineapple Company. You will learn how
pineapple is grown and harvested. Once a significant industry, the current supply is limited, but still tastes great.
